This was just a day after my post letting you all know about this Spindolyn. Looks like I am going to have to learn how to spin! Just like I said I never would make socks, or lace now spinning is on my list. If you visit her Spindle & Wheel web site you can see how to make a spindle and all other things to make and learn and buy.
My best guess is that the 8 oz of grey & white is this Gray Pin Drafted Roving. The other bag is 4 oz of Pinks, although the bag marked 4 oz is just as big as the other. What I'm wondering about is the skein of yarn she spun and the little bag of white iridescent fiber. She said if I post it she can remember what she sent! So one day I will have to post what I spin. Looks like another lesson in my future.
More kitty pictures. I speak of Stanley but he has not had as much blog time as the others. Stanley is Zorro's brother. Zorro is rough with him and Pia gives him the evil eye. But I'm slowly getting him to come into his own. This is now is new place to perch. You can read about the boys here.

Boo hoo... Those photos of your kitties made me sad... When I was in high school, I had a beautiful, huge, blue point siamese named Bear and he LOVED to sit on my speakers and/or my stereo and watch me.

Ok, I have it straight now!
The greay streaked is the pen drafted Merino. It is so lovely, one of my favorites. The pink is handdyed by me, and is also Merino.
The sparkle fiber can be carded in, or sprinkled over the roving and it will get spun into the yarn.
The yarn is just some I spun, it isn't even spun very well lol. It is very very soft and lovely to feel though. It is Merino, one ply of white and one ply of black. It should make something really nice and soft, although there is not tons of it.

I have a drop spindle which I am very far from coming close to mastering. I went to knitwitch's house one day and the best I could do with her spinning wheel is get the rhythm of the treadle (without any yarn anywhere near!) I really wish I could get the hang of this (since I plan to someday win the lottery and own an alpaca farm). I signed the Knitty Gritty petition and the global warming petition. What a great idea!
What a great prize!! Yes, you need to learn to spin. Are you going to MD Sheep & Wool?? Find Sheila Bosworth in the big building and have her show you their spindles and give you a demo. She's VERY helpful! Of course, you could just jump in there and get a wheel!!! I love Stanley's picture. My kitties would like him!!
Very nice winnings! You'll have fun learning to spin, but just like learning to knit, it can be rather frustrating at times. Have fun!
