1st post with email-
6/29/09-This is my first posting using my email. I have set up the setting to save as draft. 7/9/09-I am finally posting it!
This is some fabric that I won from Melissa Morgan Oakes. It is something I received as a runner up 'famous' Lexie Barnes fabric giveaway. I won this back in April. That is how far I am behind in keeping up with my blog and you, my readers.

Happy Mother's Day
Garden
This was the 1st to bloom and was laying on the ground. Peonies are so heavy that I always cut them off and soak them head down in a bucket to get rid of the ants. I than can bring them in the house and take some to work. I did run this one under water and left it in the bud vase in the kitchen yesterday and returned later to find ants everywhere! So an hour later with every surface once again cleaned of ants, I was able to bring the flower to my computer.

What would be knitting without Contests
Head on over to (Not So) Cynical Knitting Gal she is having a caption contest and make sure you tell her I sent you! Deadline May 15th.
Abigail of 1870 Pearl is having a comment contest. This blog was a great find as she writes beautifully. Unlike me, I leave the pictures to do the talking. Deadline end of May. For the life of me I'm still learning how to embed links to a picture when in a post. So follow my link above.
Peaceful Knitter is looking for inspiration and ideas for using up more of my stash. Leave her a comment to help her out and you could be a winner of some Knit Picks Shimmer! Oh, I could be a winner too!!

This and That
You must check out Donna's, Random Knits, finished Hyrna Herborgar. It is stunning.
Denise, Jejune's Place, finished her Ice Queen. Love it!!
Karen, Yarn is my Metier, had a tour of Lorna Laces and she didn't buy a thing! What restraint.
Gina, Sleepy Eyes Knitting, finished two but please check out the The Phiaro Scarf. I have this tagged but after reading her notes I am putting it way back on the list.
Bea, Baa, Baa Black Sheep finished her Plane Socks. I want to try the garter heal. (Her contest is over. So if you entered good luck to you)
Monica over at Passion Knits finished up a pair of Mad Color Weave socks. Love the color.
Cinnamon Girl has a new addition in the family. No contest but you can help her decide on a name.
April is Autism Awareness Month. I worked for 8 years in a sheltered workshop. Unfortunately, many of the clients we had were older and the medical advances that we have now and/or the awareness we have were not available when they were young. I'm speaking of 40 years and older. We did have younger clients come into our program who had been mainstreamed into the school system. Anyhow, Sharon is raising money for her walk in September, if you can help her out. Her page is here. Her goal is $250 and she is just past the half way mark.
Contests
April 10th is ASPCA Day. Go to Nicole's at Lap Dog Creations page for her contest. I DVR Oprah and this show was nothing new to me but I want to get the word out. Please do not buy your puppies from a pet store. (Here is a link to Pet store Cruelty). Here is the Oprah show that was on this week and puppy mills and they also mention buying puppies from the Internet. Please, if you did not see it take a few minutes to watch. My state of Virginia has puppy mills. 980 puppies and adults were rescued last November. Read this article, people are giving up their pets as they can't afford them as they are loosing their homes. Our government says were aren't in a depression! but all these stories are depressing.
Amanda at Modest Purls is having a Color Celebration contest.
It is Sherriknits BlogGIVErsary and she is having contest.
For something random. I saw the ad for this Movie in our local Senior citizens newspaper. I tried to get the image but could only give you this link. So, knitting is for old people! You will need Flash to view the intro to see what I'm talking about but if you don't you can go here.
this was my view leaving for work at 6:44 Friday morning. The morning are getting lighter

Rocky Road
I won another contest by commenting on what my favorite desert is. I like to chew my ice cream, it is the same with cereal (Kashi Crunch, bring it on). Devon is a Pastry Cook. How cool is that. Now get this...she had Bubbleknits, of Alabama Fiber Dreams dye up ROCKY ROAD yarn!! Bubbleknits is one of my favorite blogs. You have to mark your calendar as she will have new yarns available on 4/4/08.
Devon, Thank you so very much. This yarn is delectable!
Look at how spot on the colors are
There were also three stitch markers to match.
As I have been so lucky following Chan's links to contests, I hope you will follow me to Bea's contest at Baa, Baa, Blacksheep.
Please stop by Robin's The Knittin' Coop and wish her the best for Milo. Please check out her tank top. It is just gorgeous
I am still working on my socks and have about 20 more rows to do on the toes to finish up today but I wanted to share some knitterly goodness of some of my friends.
Check out Wendy's bag. Isn't that just the greatest color selection and random pattern repeat?
Robin of For the Love of Fiber is working on another mystery shawl. I do not know how she does it. But she was able to post a fantastic close up of the pattern and colorway together.

Graffiti!
Double Lucky! Donna of Random Knits was having a devil of a time getting the colours she wanted to knit for this. Since she offered, I said I'd take the Brown Zephyr off her hands. Put all the names in a hat and I won. Please stop by her blog to see her Shetland Shawl which took Second Place but best seen here.
I have been making slow progress on my Chain Melody socks. I hope do be done by the end of the week since I only seem to be able to get about 5-10 rows done in the evenings before I can't keep my eyes open any longer.

Contests and places to Visit...Chan is having her 1st year Bloggiversary. I'm still trying to sort out who talked me into to doing what. Then head on over to Cinnamongirl blog to enter to win some malabrigo. While we are at it you have to go to Ponyknits and enter her contest. She too is offering Malabrigo. Hope my lucky Chan charm holds up as it was through her initial links that I won all the above.
Spring is coming slowly.
I started my garden in 1990 and have not taken care of it in the past three years. I can not tell you what these are but they are still coming up. Blue was one of the colors I was putting in my garden. This has lasted.
and my Aristocrat Flowering Pear week 1
a blog with out Kitty Pictures, not!
Pia is a box
I moved all the spinners and scratchers into the hallway to see what would happen.
One last thing. We did not win the 2008 Washington Post Peeps contest. You can check out the winner here and all the finalists

Contests, Petition and great links
Have to include some of my kitty's. Moved furniture around so I could sell some and this bookcase is now empty and sitting by the back door. Of course, Pia and Zorro took turns sitting on top of it. Then Sissy returned to a hidey hole that she has not been in since she was a kitten. That is because it is now Stanley's favorite place. Kids!!
